FEED THE STREETS Humanitarian GREY Team
The Humanitarian Services (Grey Team) is our original, and largest team. This group of people provides food, hygiene items, clothing and other needed goods to those in need without judgement. This team also advocates for those whose voice needs to be heard. By taking a direct, face to face approach, this team hopes to reduce homelessness and empower citizens to get involved in solving our society problems.
Cause play team
Our CausePlay Team has been providing joy to children of all ages since 2014 with the Burritos and Heroes charity event where our heroes hit the streets helping to fight hunger, cold, and bringing a bit of joy to children that are going without. We come together to serve children living in poverty and/or life threatening illness. We donate our time to raise money for special needs groups and make appearances at care centers. Our team enjoys assisting communities by providing heroes that are willing to brave the heat of summer to give high fives and candy to children and adults alike at local parades. As a team, we come together to help each other improve our costumes and character performances with the expertise of our very talented team of experienced cosplayers. If you love seeing the joy a child has when meeting their heroes in real life and love to help those that are in need please contact our CausePlay team. We would love to have you CausePlay with us!

Pet Outreach Team
Pet OutreachIt’s estimated that up to 10% of the homeless population has at least one pet. The people that we serve tell us their animals provide comfort and companionship, and they often go without in order to care for the needs of their pets. Legacy Initiative’s Pet Outreach serves our community’s homeless population and their pets by providing pet food, supplies and pet medical assistance. We meet at Pioneer Park every Sunday to distribute these items and to love on these wonderful pets. Please feel free to contact the director, Margie Varela at 801-671-7374 for questions. Thank you.
Red Team
The first patrols began in early 2013, and the team was officially launched in August 2013. The purpose of these patrols is to reduce crime by making a presence on the streets. This team takes to the streets equipped with everything they might need to respond to a critical incident. During these patrols, used needles, misc paraphernalia, and other unsafe items are removed and destroyed. On an average patrol, it is common for the team to break up fights, contact EMS for distressed persons, and provide first aid. This team will occasionally scout out homeless encampments and provide information to our Humanitarian Services Team. During cold weather, welfare checks are done on people who are at risk of injury or even death. When you see us out on the streets, stop and visit with us!

Smashing Stigmas by Dan Davidson
Today’s really been a day of reflection for me.
I started my day out really early, building a website and a blog on Smashing Stigmas.
Before I left the house I did my routine to set my intentions for the day and ask Divine to guide me where I am supposed to be.
I then was picked up early by my good friend Jennifer. We went to meet the rest of our crew where we prepared 900 burritos, and set up bags of clothes and hygiene supplies for when we go out and be of service to the homeless downtown at the homeless shelter and surrounding area.....
